The role
Postgraduate Officer
The Postgraduate Officer focuses on the educational experience of the postgraduate students. Working with the faculty office and the Undergraduate Officer to support students with any academic matters, amplify student feedback mechanisms and taking feedback to the relevant staff members.
The ability to listen to feedback and know where to take it will be helpful. Confidence when speaking to academic staff or chairing meetings will be useful.
The Postgraduate Officer will be expected to:
- Meet at least once a term with students from each postgraduate programme to hear any feedback.
- Share responsibility of minuting and documenting meetings for the executive committee with the Postgraduate Officer.
- Attend all weekly meetings of the SU Team.
- Share responsibility of working SU events with the other officers.
- Attend Course Committee’s for all Postgraduate courses
The Postgraduate Officer also sits on the schools Governing Board.
This role will receive a stipend of £1,200 per year to recognise the work done for the union, subject to approval.
